Beginning in the spring of 2002, Jean Paul Jenkins and Bryan Eubanks gathered at Eubanks' then NE Portland home and set up an array of live electronics, microphones, and cued-up field recordings for two loooongg sessions of real-time improvisations. They bounced this original source material back and forth over the next 2 years; editing, re-editing, adding, and subtracting from this original source material eventually arriving at a 21 minute piece that became "final". Jenkins used a PC for his part of the re-mix, while Eubanks used a mini disc recorder and cd recorder. After a simultaneous discovery of this finalized mix in the summer of 2006, it will be released on Los Angeles label Experimental Musical Research in January of 2007. The duo decided to make a short west coast tour in February of 2007 performing the process live, and perhaps creating a new version of the French Family Fun with material from each venue and session, compounding and growing with each performance.
