CDR019 Jean Paul Jenkins & Joseph Foster duos 2004 edition of 50
released in 2005 out of print
A recent document of long time collaborators Joseph Foster and Jean Paul Jenkins
recorded in Jean Paul's home in October of 2004 during one of Foster's visits
to the US. An entirely acoustic outing taking from one straight session of which
there were many, many recorded during this time. A spacious and intimate recording
with out a lot of tricks, you can even hear the sounds of the street outside of
this one. There was a design to release two disc of material as one release, but eventually
the disc were divided and the companion disc is
CDR020, the trios recording with the aforementioned duo.
Both releases come with an original photo by jeorja pines, one of which is pictured
at right.
Not your typical recording for the year 2004, in fact, perhaps this could be
considered a little bit 'old fashioned,' but taking into account the histories
and activities of these strong players, it should be listened to with open ears
and an open mind for ideas of form, development, and anti-form, anti-development.
